Philip Pare
The Very. Rev Philip Norris Pare , MA was an eminent Anglican priest and author 〔Amongst others he wrote "Eric Milner-White, A Memoir", 1965; "Re-Thinking Our Worship", 1967; and "God Made the Devil?: a ministry of healing", 1985 > British Library website accessed 19:06 GMT 7 February 2011〕 in the second half of the 20th century.〔The Times, Friday, 11 Jan 1963; pg. 11; Issue 55596; col G ''Letter to the Editor from The Very Rev PHILIP N. PARE''〕 He was born on 13 May 1910 〔(Genealogical web-site )〕 and educated at Nottingham High School and King's College, Cambridge.〔“Who was Who” 1897-2007 London, A & C Black, 2007 ISBN 978-0-19-954087-7〕 He was ordained after a period of study at Ripon College Cuddesdon in 1935 〔Crockford's Clerical Directory1940-41 Oxford, OUP 1940〕 and was initially a Curate at All Saints, West Dulwich.〔(Parish web site )〕 After this he was Vice-Principal at Bishops College, Cheshunt and then a Chaplain in the RNVR until the end of World War II. Returning to Cheshunt he was its Vicar until 1957 and then Missioner Canon Stipendiary for the Diocese of Wakefield, a post he held until 1962. He was then Provost of Wakefield until 1971.
